When we received the opportunity to support this year’s remarkable turkey drive, our team at Pursuit to Own knew we were witnessing something special. Organized by Ivan Thomas (“Big Ive”) of DETV, we were honored to play a meaningful role in bringing hope and nourishment to Delaware’s communities by helping to distribute more than 5,000 turkeys.
Our Pursuit To Own founder, Christopher Pitt, understands firsthand the profound impact of community support. Growing up experiencing poverty and hardship, Chris knows that a single act of kindness can be transformative.
“I grew up hungry,” Chris shared. “I watched my mother struggle. It was hard times. So I do this type of work to make sure that no one else has to experience that.”
The drive’s collaborative spirit was truly inspiring. By partnering with organizations like Boys & Girls Clubs, United Way, senior living centers, and local apartment communities, we saw the true power of collective action. The bus made over 16 stops throughout Delaware. Each turkey represented more than sustenance—it was a message of care, solidarity, and love.
Watching families receive these turkeys, seeing the relief and joy in their eyes, reminded us why community work matters. Every smile, every grateful nod validated the importance of coming together, especially during the holiday season.
To Big Ive and his team who organized this drive: thank you for allowing Pursuit to Own to be part of something so meaningful. Your vision turned a simple turkey distribution into a profound community celebration of hope and compassion.
